Hello, I am Bihui Jin, welcome to my site! I am a Ph.D. Student in Computer Science at University of Waterloo, advised by Prof. Pengyu Nie. I obtained my MASc. in 2023 and BASc. in 2022 in Computer Engineering from Queen's University, advised by Prof. Ying (Jenny) Zou.

My research interests span LLM for SE, developing new techniques for training, testing, and evaluating ML systems, software engineering (SE), and empirical studies.

Oct 16, 2025 My paper “Energy-Efficient Software Development: A Multi-dimensional Empirical Analysis of Stack Overflow” worked with Prof. Heng Li, Prof. Pengyu Nie, and Prof. Ying (Jenny) Zou has been accepted for for presentation at the 48th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2026) to be held April 12-18 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Mar 12, 2025 My paper “Learning to Edit Interactive Machine Learning Notebooks” with Jiayue Wang and Prof. Pengyu Nie has been accepted for presentation at the ACM International Conference on the Foundations of Software Engineering (FSE 2025) to be held 23-27 June 2025 in Trondheim, Norway.
Feb 25, 2025 My paper “Impact of Extensions on Browser Performance: An Empirical Study on Google Chrome” worked with Prof. Ying (Jenny) Zou and Prof. Heng Li has been accepted for publication in Empirical Software Engineering (EMSE).
Jan 30, 2025 My paper “CoUpJava: A Dataset of Code Upgrade Histories in Open-Source Java Repositories” worked with Kaihang Jiang and Prof. Pengyu Nie has been accepted for publication in the proceedings of the 2025 IEEE/ACM 22nd International Conference on Mining Software Repositories (MSR) to be held 28-29 April 2025 in Ottawa, Canada.
